2nd Working fire - Middletown
Sunday, January 3, 2010
Sunday morning, January 3rd at 05:21hrs, while units were operating at a working barn fire in Townsend, Stations 1&27 and cover-up companies from area fire departments were alerted for a working house fire in the area of the above address. Initial units arriving on scene found a two story single famly dwelling fully involved within minutes of dispatch. Due to the known vacancy of the residence, all personel took a defensive position on the fire and kept embers from spreading throughout the surrounding fields. Crews operated for 2 hours at the scene.
The following fire departments assisted Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown: Port Penn, Chesapeake City, Cecilton, Citizens Hose Company of Smyrna, Odessa and Townsend.
Thanks to Mike carroll and VHC for the story and Photos.
