From DCFC15.com - Today around 2:15 PM, Stations 3,6,12, Engine 10, Engine 1 and Ladder 15 were alerted for a residential fire in the neighborhood. 15-7 was the first unit to respond. As 15-7 traveled down the road, a column of smoke was seen in the distance, and 12 Captain 1 asked if the alarm was being upgraded.
B-6 was the first unit on scene with heavy fire showing from the C/D corner and reported a possibility of up to 4 subjects trapped. 12 Captain 1 requested the 2nd alarm assignment upon the report from B-6. 15-7 arrived on scene first and pulled 3 hand lines. 12-6 arrived on scene shortly thereafter and along with part of 15-7's crew attempted to search the residence. Conditions were deteriorating in the structure and forced the evacuation of it. At this time the subjects were still unaccounted for and command requested 4 additional engines.
Crews began to knock the fire from the exterior and after the bulk was knocked, overhaul and another primary search were began. Shortly thereafter the one missing child was located outside of the residence. All search results were negative.
