The Odessa and Townsend Fire Companies were dispatched to the area of Route 1 and Old State Road for a field fire. Odessa units handled a small fire along the highway while Townsend units handled an additional fire north of Fieldsboro Road. Deputy 26(Dawson) was the first chief officer on the scene and established the Command. An additional field peice was requested from Middletown. Odessa firefighters were in service for 45 minutes.
