On Wednesday, November 30th around 2:30pm over 20 members and officers of the OFC were invited to the ground breaking of the new Christiana Care Middletown Emergency Room. The ceremony that included several local representatives from Christiana Care President Robert Laskowski, Delaware Lt. Gov. Matt Denn, Senator Bruce C. Ennis, State Representative Rebecca Walker and Middletown Mayor Kenneth Branner. Christiana Care President Laskowski stated the hospital will open in in the first quarter of 2013. The facility is located on 108 acres near Route 1 and Middletown Odessa Road. This will be a 24 hour emergency room with 18 treatment rooms and 8 observations beds. The completed facility in the next few years will be over 36,500 square feet. It is reported that the population in the area is over 86,000 residents
