Recently V.P. Whittington noticed the Antique trailer that the company has owned for over 15 years was in need of some repaint / decal. The company plans on keeping this trailer for many more years to move our “pride of the company” the 1926 Hale Pumper that was restored in mid 90’s under the direction of Chief Emeritus Ed Shetzler. The trailer was sent to Cassidy Paint in Newport for a new paint job and decals were done by K and C Graphics at Station 4. The project took several months to complete, but is now ready for the Antique to be moved for up coming parades and specials events.
One event that the trailer was used for was in October of 2005 when the company was very proud to use the trailer to haul over 20,000 T-shirts to Baton Rouge, New Orleans. Members Dan Vucci and Tom Morsberger drove over 19 straight hours to make sure the shirts were delivered to the much needed first responders after Hurricane Katrina hit that area. That event was a result of the “fire shirts of our backs” event that was originally started by Firehouse.com editor Pete Mathews and the Bladesburg FD in MD.
