Fatal Fire - 900 block of Bayview Road

19:14hrs; Station 4/24(The OFC), Engine 29(Port Penn), Engine 15(Del City), Tower/Engine 1-27(Middletown) and Tanker 26(Townsend) was dispatched to an L3*Residential Fire reported to be a garage in the 900 block of Bayview Road. With a crew in quarters for Engine 4 and Tanker 24 both units responded 1 minute after dispatched with Chief 24-8 Brown. Chief Brown arrived on scene at 19:18hours with fire showing. The alarm was then upgraded adding Tanker Company from Cecil County Station 2/12(Ches. City) and Engine 10(Newark) as the R.I.T. Crew of 4 from Engine 4 placed a 2 inch line in service and entered the structure under the command of Deputy 24(Billings) as the primary fire attack. Tanker 24 supplied Engine 4. Tanker 24 crew placed and additional line from Engine 4 and also entered the structure throw a second alpha side doorway. A quick of knock and aggressive attack along with a primary search was preformed. Deputy 24 communicated face to face to Command with Engine 29 crew advising the same via Tac. 3 that there was a fatality. A canine was removed from the structure while 2 others perished. OFC firefighters were on scene for over 4 hours with overhaul and assisting the State Fire Marshal Office Arson 1 and DSP with the investigation.

Cover up at Station 4 was Engine 32(Wilm. Manor) and Tanker 931 (Hacks Point, MD)
Engine 4 was placed out of service due to mechanical problems after the fire was placed under control and had to be towed by B&F Towing.
