Rescue Assist on the Working Building Fire - Friendly's Restaurant (1/27 local)

15:31hours: Station 1/27(VHC), Rescue/Engine 4/24, Engine 26(Townsend) and Ladder 15(Del. City) were dispatched to a L3*Commercial Structure fire at 350 Dove Run Centre Drive, Friendly Restaurant. The VHC 27-1 was en route to the call for a plant on fire when the 911 center upgraded it to L3 response. 27-1 arrived on scene with fire showing and upgrading it to work. The working alarm dispatched brought Engine/R.I.T 29(Port Penn) and Quint/Engine Co. 45(Clayton). Rescue 24 responded at 15:38hrs under the command of Part-time Firefighter/EMT J. Farrell and arrived on scene at the same time as Utility 24 at 15:47hrs. The crews from both units were given the B-Bravo side and stretchered a 3 inch line from Engine 27-5. Rescue 24 crew along with the Crew from Engine 27-5 opened up some of the Bravo side wall to gain access. Friendly Command (Asst. Chief M Schusteritsch) requested REHAB 24 @ 15:57hours. Command marked the scene under control with units working at 15:57hours.
Odessa Firefighters were on scene until 18:00 hours - 3.5 hours.
During this incident Tanker 24 remained on scene of the working barn fire in the Station 26 local.
Special thanks to the crew from Engine18-2(Goodwill of New Castle) and the crew of Tanker 29 with members of the OFC established an additional crew at Station 4 during this fire. Both units covered the 4/24 and 29 local.
