Rescue / Engine 4-6 - Station 4

On Friday evening June, 29th, Chief Brown and Deputy Chief Billings placed the new 4-6 in service. After spending almost 2 months on tool mounting and drivers training the new rescue/engine was placed in service and within a few hours responded to well over 20 calls in less than 24 hours due to severe thunderstorms in the MOT area.
The truck is a Pierce 2012 Arrow XT with TAK-4 suspension, 6 personnel cab seating with a raised roof and a Detroit DD13 500 hp diesel engine. The pump is a Waterous 1500 GPM single stage pump with a 1000 gallons water tank and a portable foam pack. The truck carries an additional 5 gallons of foam and has a Harrison 20KW PTO driven generator. Wireless Firecom communication headsets and weather band CD/AM/FM radio capable of route alerting.

Hopefully within the next week Engine 24-3 will be placed in service once tool mounting is completed.
