Medical Assist, Commercial Vehicle Fire and L3 Residential Gas Leak

The OFC was dispatched to a medical assist Ambulance A24 in the Augustine Creek II development at 15:25hrs. Field Piece 24-0 made the response and arrived on scene when Station 4/24 was dispatched to an Automobile fire on DuPont Parkway at Greylag Road. Squad 4-6 and 24-0 responded to the vehicle fire with 24-8-B(Getty) arriving on scene to find a Schwans Ice Cream Truck on fire. The front of the vehicle was found to be involved. DuPont Parkway Command was established and quickly called for Tanker 29 from Station 29. Schwans Commercial vehicles are fueled by 2 - 75 lb propane tanks. Crews on 4-6 placed 2 lines in service (1) for suppression and (1) for cooling on the passenger side tank. A Thermal imagining camera was used along with the 4 gas meter to monitor the IDLH atmosphere. Tanker 24 / Tanker 29 both arrived and were utilized. OFC firefighters were in service for over 2 hours. Both the north bound and south bound lanes of DuPont Parkway were closed during the 2 hours by DSP/ Station Fire Police.

18:23hrs; The OFC, Engine / Tanker 26 and Tower/Engine 1-27 was dispatched to a L3* 69D3 Residential Gas Leak on Corbit Drive in the Cantwell Ridge development. Engine 24, Squad 4 and Rescue 24 responded along with mutual aid units and arrived on scene. Rescue Captain Eckrich had the Odessa Command and placed the scene under control at 18:40hours.
