On Sunday September 1, 2013 the Odessa Fire Company placed in-service Command 4/24 to be used as a Duty Officers Vehicle. The vehicle is a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD equipped to function as a Incident Command Vehicle at incidents that the Odessa Fire Company responds to. The Duty Officer program consists of the fire line officers who are assigned the vehicle for one week and handle emergency and non-emergency incidents and over see the day to day operations of the Odessa Fire Company. The vehicle was purchased at Willis Chevrolet and the cabinetry was built by Secrist Furniture in Maryland. All emergency lighting/electrical components/radios were installed by Division of State Commuinications, Camden, DE. Graphics and Striping were done by Hamm Partlett.
On Monday Septemeber 2, 2013 the Odessa Fire Company was alerted to cover Station 6 and while enroute was redirected to the fire scene when the 2nd alarm was sounded for an apartment fire at the Village of Canterbury. Engine 24/Rescue 24/Command 24 made the response. Crews from Engine and Rescue 24 assisted with overhaul. Command 24 assisted with Accountibility and Staging.
