On February 14, 2017 at 1244 hours the Odessa Fire Company along with units from Delaware City Fire Company, Port Penn Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Police Aviation unit were alerted for a single vehicle MVC that had rolled over. Units arrived to find a Ford SUV that had come to rest on it's wheels after apparently rolling over the guardrail. Ambulances from Delaware City and Odessa were on scene to provide care to one patient. That patient was then airlifted to an area hospital by Trooper 4 of the Delaware State Police. Units on scene operated for 26 minutes.
