On July 19, 2017 at 16:58 hours the Odessa Fire Company along with NCC Paramedics, Townsend Fire Company, Volunteer Hose Company, and Belvedere Fire Company (Hazmat30) were alerted for an MVC with reports of 10-20 cars and 2 overturned tractor trailers. Chief Eckrich arrived on scene and assumed command. As units arrived it was determined that injuries were not critical and ALS was not needed. The injured were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Units operated on scene for about 2 & 1/2 hours. Scene was turned over to Delaware State Police.
