On Friday afternoon 10/11/19 at 16:04 hours the Odessa Fire Company was alerted to respond to a small brushfire out in a marsh and corn field area in the district. 4-8b, Engine 24, 24-0 and a BLS unit initially made the response. Upon arrival to the area due to the size of the smoke collum the officer from Engine 24 requested an additional tanker to make the response. There was active fire found to be burning threating a near by corn field and crop. 24-0 went right to work, and then requested addidional field piece units to respond. Units from Middletown (VHC27) and Townsend (26) responded to assist. Units worked for approx 30-45 minutes before the situation was placed under control.
