On Thursday, October 15th, 2020 at approximately 12:00 PM, several companies were alerted for a water rescue at Lums Pond State Park. Upon further investigation, it was determined that two subjects were missing from the area of the Dog Recreational Park area on the Northeastern portion of the park off Buck Jersey Road. Gator-24 was on the original dispatch and assisted in getting personnel and specialized equipment back to the wooded area where emergency assets were performing searches. 24 Marine 2 was later called to the staging area as a back-up marine unit while others continued the search for the subjects. Both victims were eventually located within an hour of each other roughly around 1830 hours. All units cleared around 1930 hrs. and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police and the Department of Natural Resources for their investigation.
