Easter Sunday afternoon was busy for the Odessa Volunteers and surrounding Fire Departments. Station 4/24 had 2 working fire within a couple of hours of each other and were assisted by the Port Penn, Delaware City, Middletown, Townsend and the Clayton Fire Companies
The first fire was dispatched just after 2pm for a Residential Structure fire in the 100 block of Main Street Odessa. Engine-24 arrived and secured a water supply from a hydrant and found a small fire behind the dryer on the first floor and extinguished it. The area around the fire was opened up to make sure the fire didn't spread. 24-8B (Adams) had Odessa Command and placed the scene under control about about 20 minutes later.
The second fire was dispatched 10 minutes before 6pm in the 2500 block of DuPont Parkway. Engine-24 arrived and secured a water supply from a hydrant and the crew found the fire on the first floor with extension to the second floor. 24-8B (Adams) had Odessa Command and placed the scene under control about 30 minutes later.
Both scenes were turned over to the State Fire Marshall's Office.
